Bawumia Invading Homes Of NDC Northern Region Executives – Mustapha Gbande Alleges

A National Officer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, has accused the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of invading homes of their Northern Regional Executives in an attempt to convince them into his fold.

Mustapha Gbande, the deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress is accusing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of attempting to sow a seed of discord among the party executives in the North.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia visits NDC executives in an attempt to convince them to support his bid to capture political power in the 2024 general elections.

“The only reason why they would do this is that Dr Mahumudu Bawumia has decided to be invading the homes of NDC stakeholders in the North, secretly going to their house in the night with his driver alone,” he said

His allegations come on the back of the alleged assault on the Northern Regional Treasurer, Hajia Razak Shamima by the Regional Vice Chairman, Mr Gbewa over party fund on January 14, 2024.

“Yesterday, there was no meeting in the Northern Region. What ensued between two executives of the Northern Region that was an incident that occurred at the regional office of the Northern Region branch of the NDC.” He added.

Mr Gbande added that the Vice President who is the head of economic management team has abandoned his duty and has rather chosen to meddle in their party politics seeking to create division and cracks in the party.

“[Bawumia] wants to try and deepen cracks in the NDC to leverage his popularity in the North”

Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Kwetey has condemned the alleged assault on the Northern Regional Treasurer vowing to ensure National Executives of the Party look into the matter.
